Lodging in Cabooses

Catawissa Railroad Company — in north central Pennsylvania. Stay in any of eight cabooses nestled near the Susquehanna River, with dining nearby at a 1910 train station.

Cruces Cabooses — Windsor, Missouri. This bed and breakfast offers two cabooses in a wooded area near a pond, with private picnic tables and nearby hiking/biking trails.

Grassy Creek Cabooses — in south central Virginia, near the North Carolina border. Three cabooses plus a depot-style cabin in a quiet setting, but featuring amenities like 2-person jacuzzis and satellite TV.

Izaak Walton Inn — in Essex, Montana, at the southern edge of Glacier National Park. This year-round resort includes a hotel, six cabins, and four cabooses, overlooking the Great Northern Railway. Amtrak's Empire Builder train stops very close to the Inn.

Livingston Junction Cabooses — Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Three cabooses plus a replica of a railroad depot, along a mountainside overlooking the Eureka Springs & Northwest Arkansas Railway excursion train tracks. Each one offers a hot tub, grill, and hammock, along with other features.
